OSTARA & SUPER MOON

This Monday, on March 21 2011, we celebrate Ostara,
the Spring Equinox.

There are only two times a year when day and night
are in balance.

Ostara is one of them, and we celebrate the days growing
longer and the light increasing.

This year is extra special because on March 19th, the full moon
will be what's called a Super Moon.

That means that the moon will come the closest to Earth than it
has in 19 years.

It's truly a special and powerful event, yet some people are
predicting that it has the potential for disaster.

Some people are even saying that the earthquake in Japan was
because of the Super Moon.

But that's like saying that all the small earthquakes that
happen every day are connected to the moon cycle.

If something is already happening, however, the super moon
can have an effect on it.

No question that the Super Moon is powerful, for good and
for bad.

I think that with the Super Moon and Ostara happening so close together, we have an opportunity to channel a huge amount of power.

If you haven't already planned your ritual for this
powerful time, I'd like to encourage you to do so.

After all, it isn't every day that we Wiccans get a chance to be
a part of a Super Moon (and the next one won't be for 19 years!)

Try a ritual that combines the celebration of spring, love, and
fertility and the

Decorate your altar with wildflowers and spring greens, eggs
and seeds, and other symbols of fertility.

This is a great time to bless your seeds for the coming
planting.

Bring them into the circle and give them the power of
the Seed Moon and the Equinox together.

Fill your ritual with flowers and floral
incense such as jasmine, rose, and violet.

Green candles symbolize the birthing of the new spring
and new growth.

But don't just celebrate the spring.

Use the ritual to send prayers of healing and protection
to those affected by the recent disasters.

And seize this opportunity to make requests and
cast spells for more personal matters, too.

They will be 10 times more powerful if you cast them
during this auspicious time.
